How Are We Doing
Construction began in October 2025. A long awaited project for our family.
Started with a dream for our family to have a business in the Philippines. My wife found the land some ten years ago. As many Filipinos know buying and selling land can be an arduous process. And it was for us. Two children later and with a "just jump" attitude we started the construction with a ground breaking in October of 2025! My wife, Beverly, took on the lions share of the technical aspects of construction. From paperwork to blueprints to costs she took the lead. Me, I took on the aesthetics and financial logistics and more. Together as a team we are bringing this dream to life. We have a current target of completion in the fourth quarter of 2027!

Ground breaking with the raw land to the right. This was a very exciting day when the excavator came to the property! This is a busy highway from Olongapo through Subic, Pamatawan and onto Castillejos.
The foundation is being laid out and poured, and we’re in awe watching this dream take shape.
Our workers have been incredible—skilled, hardworking, and consistent, keeping everything moving right on schedule.
We’re truly grateful for Sani Vac Builders, who have been flexible, dependable, and a blessing to work with throughout this build.
A very special appreciation goes to our project manager, Cecilia Cantong, who has been exceptional in keeping us informed, organized, and assured every step of the way. Her guidance has made this journey feel smooth and well cared for.
The first floor is going in, and with
this project I’ve been learning so much about tradition with regards to construction in the Philippines.
One tradition I’ve come to appreciate is Bayanihan—serving food and coming together in gratitude and celebration for every floor foundation poured. It’s a reminder that building isn’t just about structures, but about community, unity, and shared effort.
As the second story begins construction I thought I would share another tradition we practiced on this building as well as our home in Subic: Hulog.
Our building story: Faith in Every Floor.
This building is more than a structure. It is a testimony of God's will, provision and grace. From the very beginning we entrusted this dream to God. Every step in the process has been guided by faith. And every need has been met through his provision.
In our culture we practice "hulog." A meaningful tradition during construction. Each time a new flood or foundation is completed we pause to celebrate. We gather with our builders to share food as a symbol of abundance and offer prayers of gratitude and protection.
For us, every floor represents God's faithfulness in the journey, provision at every stage, unity with the people helping to build this dream and a moment to give thanks before moving on.
We do not just build with concrete; we build with prayer, gratitude and purpose.
This dream is not ours alone. It is a reflection of God's grace and the community that surrounds us.
As the third floor gets underway, we’re really starting to feel the excitement building toward the completion of this project.
This milestone has also inspired us to begin creating this website and thoughtfully planning how each space will be used. We envision the upper floors as flexible spaces—either apartments, office units, or a combination of both, depending on future needs and opportunities.
With that in mind, I’ve started putting out feelers for individuals or organizations who may be interested in the commercial storefronts on the main floor, as well as the upper floor spaces.
It’s becoming more than just a build—it’s shaping into a place with purpose, possibilities, and future partnerships.
As of June 2025, construction continues to make significant progress, with the third-floor foundation now complete. We are actively seeking additional partners who share our vision and would like to establish their businesses within this vibrant community.
The next phase of the project is the fourth-floor event space. Designed with an open-floor concept, it will be suitable for use in both favorable and unfavorable weather conditions. The space will feature a combination of open and enclosed areas, providing a versatile venue for hosting and entertaining a wide variety of events.
